Publications, Reports, and Subject Files 1953-1987.

The records consist of publications, reports, and subject files. The publications include pamphlets, booklets, periodicals, and articles, with a section of material on the periodical The Missionary. There are publications in Danish and Hausa as well as English. Reports are arranged alphabetically by name of the author. Subject files include a section of church files for the Lutheran Church of Christ in the Sudan (LCCS) and Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN). Both the church and mission subject files include information on several institutions, including a number of files on Hillcrest School, an ecumenical school originally begun for missionary children. The records were collected by Executive Directors Rolf A. Syrdal, Theodore P. Fricke, Morris A. Sorenson, Jr., and Mark Thomsen, and Secretaries for Africa and Madagascar Lowell Hesterman and James L. Knutson.
